Don’t Flush down harsh chemicals

Obviously, it does seem desirable to picture the toilet bowl cleaning itself. But in fact, what you do can compound damage to a toilet’s tank and pipes rather than obviating such problems. Constant chemicals can harm toilet parts including rubber and plastic seals and gaskets. That damage can result in your toilet’s inner workings leaking and failing. In addition, the bottle in the tank displaces water that would be used to properly flush your toilet. That can result in clogs and backups. So, even while a clean toilet is a fantastic thing, leaving cleaning agent bottled inside your toilet tank is not.
Do not use Off-the-Shelf Cleaning Agents in your toilet
You want a quick cure for a clog in your toilet. Here’s one way to unclog your toilet, without chemicals. Traditional, harsh chemicals, use a very vigorous and caustic ingredient called bleaching to break down clogs. In the case of the toilet, the chemicals can get trapped in the S-shaped part of the bottom of the toilet, called a trap. The toilet, including the trap, is made of porcelain. The chemical process of the Cleaning agent emits heat in the process, which can crack the porcelain. Additionally, if you used such a chemical to clear the clog and then also used a plunger, the result could be that you splash dangerous product on your body. That can cause skin irritations or burns.
Don’t flush cleaning wipes.
Wet wipe can be a quick way to clean your toilet, especially for things like bacteria on the handle of your commode and lingering in spots around it. But homeowners, listen up: Many Sanitation Agencies cautions against flushing down anything but toilet paper. Cleaning wipes as well as sanitary wipes marked “flushable” should never be thrown in the toilet. Since they do not break down or biodegrade while they are going through sewage systems and water supply pipes that feed into our homes, these things can damage internal housing plumbing and local community sewer collection plants.
